WinterFest 2010

The Republic Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who took part in the festivities!

This year's WinterFest concluded on the 16th. Unfortunately, both snow and community involvement were lacking this year, so events were scaled back from what was originally planned. However, we did proceed with a few events, and those who participated had a good time.

The torchlight parade was small but enthusiastic. We are planning on a larger and better-publicized parade next year. Unfortunately the post-parade bonfire can no longer take place due to overly-restrictive EPA anti-burning laws, so we had to make do with goodies in the dark.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Winterfest Committee would sincerely like to grow and improve this event next year. Winterfest is an opportunity to benefit Republic and the local businesses. We can have fun events for residents while also drawing tourists to the area. We especially urge business owners to get behind Winterfest and help us plan and promote the occasion.

 Circle January 15, 2011 on your calendar for Winterfest. We will begin planning meetings earlier for next year's Winterfest, and we expect a larger and better event.
